Great point. Something I failed to mention is that we currently live in a leftist echo-chamber, and so becoming red-pilled typically refers to a breakaway from left-wing ideology. But Red-pilling by no means equates to becoming a Donald Trump fan. If anything, Red-pilling ideally should be a departure from accepting ideas without question, and always searching for the nuance to avoid a further shattering of ones worldview.
Similarly, a right-winger may become red-pilled with regards to abortion, or the War on Drugs, or any list of issues that conservatives typically hold close to their chest.
